Sinking the Vandenberg

Today is the one year anniversary of the sinking of the Hoyt S. Vandenberg off the coast of Key West. This historic naval relic was resurrected from the scrap heap and transformed into a spectacular dive site thanks to the efforts of two Key West visionaries, Joe Weatherby and Bill Verge. My wife Cathy and I had a ring side seat out on the water when they sank her. It’s a memory I will always have. Thanks Joe and Bill for your persistence and vision. We are a better community because of your hard work.
